Final Thoughts From our Summer Intern, Deon'te

				<![CDATA[]]>

ETG: Which departments/areas have you worked in this summer? Deon’te: Dispatch/Operations, Data Storage, and Sales. I also attended a few Chamber and community events. ETG: What was one challenge you had to overcome this summer? What parts of your internship did you find to be challenging? Deon’te: All the boxes!! There was a lot of movement on the Data Storage side day-to-day and a lot of inventory to pull and put back for customers ETG: What did you enjoy learning about? Deon’te: The logistics side of the business – information about how it all works, especially in the dispatch side of operations. My dad worked for a long time as a driver, so I knew how that side worked, but it was interesting to see what goes into that from the office. ETG: How do you think this experience will prepare you for future jobs or your desired career path? Deon’te: I gained a lot of confidence in communication and I think that will definitely help me in future work environments and interviewing going into college. ETG: You’ll be starting your senior year in a few weeks, what are you most looking forward to in your final year of high school? Deon’te: GRADUATION! 🙂 ETG: How would you summarize your experience this summer? Deon’te: 10/10! It was difficult at first trying to absorb all of the information from the different parts of the business, but once I learned it all and got comfortable in my role I really enjoyed it. ETG: We hear you’ve been offered the option to stay on during the school year – do you think you’d be interested? Deon’te: Yes, definitely – I plan to work after school and on weekends during my senior year. I will stay on with the Data Storage side and help pull boxes for file runs in the afternoons during the week and work on the shred side on the weekends. ETG: What was your favorite area to work in? Deon’te: Dispatch – there was always a lot going on in the office to observe and learn from and there were so many funny personalities that came through when I worked at the dispatch driver window, running weight tickets. During his last day we celebrated the end of his internship and officially welcomed him to Team ETG as a part time employee in our Data Storage segment. We celebrated as a team at our favorite little lunch spot by the office and were excited to have his Mom in attendance to congratulate him on a job well-done. We look forward to working with Deon’te this fall and seeing where his solid work ethic and bright smile takes him! We know there are great things in store for him this year.
