September in the CSRA: Local Events Guide

  We will kick off the list with two local favorites, the annual Art Festivals in Augusta and Aiken, happening back-to-back weekends this month!

AIKEN’S MAKIN’

September 7 (9am-6pm)  |  Septemer 8 (9am  – 5pm) Historic Downtown Aiken This annual local showcase of handmade goods boasts over 300 vendors winding through the parkways of downtown Aiken. For over 40 years, locals have come out to support and celebrate the craftsmanship of local artisans. For more information on vendors, food, and more, visit their website.  

ARTS IN THE HEART

September 14-16 Downtown Augusta This annual event is a celebration of creativity and culture. You can shop handmade goods, fine art, sample international cuisine with vendors representing 20+ countries, and see showcase performances by talent from all over the Southeast. AUGUSTA MARKET AT THE RIVER

Saturdays from 8am-2pm On 8th Street in Downtown Augusta Checkout handmade jewelry, local artists, produce, baked goods, coffee, and more! It’s a great way to start off a crisp fall morning, and then you can head home and catch some college football in the afternoon

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Nothing beats a Friday night cheering on the home team. The CSRA has local high schools packed with spirit and talent, so head out for some action on the gridiron and cheer on your favorite local team! SWAMP SATURDAY HIKES

Saturdays at 9:30am Starting September 3 – December 2 Take a guided hike through Phinizy Swamp Nature Park on their 2.5 mile trail! You can view the local wildlife and learn about the diverse plants that inhabit the area. Cost: $2/person – register online.

BEND & BREW IN AIKEN

SUNDAY STROLL: A SIGNATURE DRINK CRAWL

Sunday, September 2  |  12pm-4pm

As a part of Labor Day Jazz Weekend put on by Garden City Jazz, take a stroll through downtown Augusta and sip some craft cocktails whipped up by your local mixologists at places like Whiskey Bar, Fuse, Bees Knees, Hive, and more!

 

SECOND SATURDAY AT THE SQUARE:

September 8  |  4PM – 8PM
Downtown Edgefield

Experience historic downtown Edgefield with a farmers market, live music, crafts and more. You can check out the Edgefield General Store and tour the town square
