10 Events to Check Out This Summer in Augusta

Whether you’re new to the CSRA or have lived here for ages, it’s no secret that Augusta is booming and that means more entertainment options than ever are coming our way. As summer rapidly approaches thoughts turn to planning trips, lake days, and more, but there is plenty of fun to be had right here in Augusta!   We know those summer calendars can fill up fast, so we’re helping you get an early start on Summer plans and sharing these 10 things you won’t want to miss in Augusta over the next few months!

Greenjackets Game | All Summer | SRP Park, North Augusta

Summers were made for baseball, and it’s no secret that SRP Park is an exciting new part of the minor league scene here in the CSRA. If you haven’t visited for a game yet, you’re in for a real treat! The Greenjackets will be playing home games at SRP park all summer and you can check their schedule and purchase tickets here.

The Augusta Market | Saturdays from 8am-2pm  | 8th Street Plaza on The Riverwalk

The Augusta Market is a weekly opportunity for makers and vendors from across the CSRA to come together in one location. Shoppers can find fresh produce and other food items, art, handmade goods and more! If you’re looking to get a taste of Augusta, this is a great place to start. Catch a Show at the Newly Renovated Miller Theatre

If you haven’t visited the newly renovated Miller Theatre in downtown Augusta, this is definitely something to add to your “must do” list for the summer! It’s so great to see the downtown Augusta area experiencing a revitalization and there are several shows happening at The Miller this summer so make sure to check their calendar here.

Get outside!

Take advantage of the summer sun and check out some of these great local spots to enjoy the outdoors like:
  • Kayaking or Canoeing from Savannah Rapids Pavilion
  • The Bark Park, Disc Golf Course, and Gardens at Pendleton King Park
  • Bike or hike along the Augusta Canal or Riverwalk

Have a Lake Day

Just a quick drive from Augusta or North Augusta, Clarks Hill Lake / Lake Thurmond has a variety of camp grounds, public beaches, and access areas so you can enjoy a lake day any time this summer. Check out some of the more popular options like:

Thunder Over Evans  | May 19, 2018  | Evans Towne Center Park

Pig Out in the Park  | June 9, 2018  |  The Augusta Common

Feeling hungry? Better save room for this one, the Pig Out in the Park is a local amateur BBQ competition featuring lots of tasty bites, live music, family fun, and even a kids BBQ competition. Tickets are only $5 and kids under 12 get in free, so this is a great way to get in some family fun this summer! Click here for more info.  

Free Summer Film Series |  Saturdays at 11am  | The Imperial Theatre

If you need a little reprieve from the heat, check out this FREE film series at the Imperial Theatre In Augusta. For 4 Saturdays throughout the summer, the Imperial will screen different movies including:

  • June 30 – Star Wars The Force Awakens
  • July 14 – Dream Girls
  • July 21- Big Hero 6
  • August 4- Rent

KidsFest  |  August 25, 2018  |  Evans Towne Center Park
